Leading the fight against cancer. Always focused on you and your future care

Small, positive health choices can make a meaningful difference during the cancer journey. This Health Tips section provides supportive guidance to help manage daily challenges, enhance quality of life, and encourage healthy habits. Our goal is to walk alongside you with reliable information that supports both body and mind.

Nutrition & Hydration

  • Eat small, frequent meals to maintain energy, especially if treatment affects appetite.
  • Focus on nutrient-dense foods: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins (chicken, fish, eggs, legumes).
  • Stay hydrated: aim for water, herbal teas, or broths. Avoid sugary drinks and alcohol unless approved by your doctor.
  • Limit processed and fried foods; they can increase inflammation and digestive discomfort.

Physical Activity

  • Light to moderate exercise like walking, stretching, or yoga can boost energy and mood.
  • Tailor activity to your strength and treatment schedule—don’t overexert.
  • Physical therapy can help if mobility or strength is reduced after treatment.

Managing Treatment Side Effects

  • Nausea & vomiting: ask your doctor about anti-nausea medications. Ginger or small, bland meals may help.
  • Fatigue: rest, pace yourself, and prioritize important activities.
  • Mouth sores: maintain oral hygiene, use soft toothbrushes, and avoid acidic/spicy foods.
  • Hair loss: gentle hair care, scarves, or wigs if needed; scalp cooling may be an option for some chemotherapy patients.

Immune System Support

  • Hand hygiene: wash hands regularly to reduce infection risk.
  • Avoid crowds or sick people if your immune system is weakened.
  • Vaccinations: discuss flu shots with your oncologist.

Mental & Emotional Well-being

  • Talk about your feelings with family, friends, or support groups.
  • Mindfulness and relaxation techniques (meditation, deep breathing) can reduce stress.
  • Professional help: psychologists, counselors, or social workers can assist with coping strategies.

Regular Medical Follow-up

  • Keep all appointments for check-ups, labs, or imaging.
  • Report new symptoms immediately (pain, fever, unusual bruising, or weight changes).
  • Medication adherence: take prescribed drugs exactly as directed.

Avoid Harmful Habits

  • Quit smoking if applicable—it can worsen treatment outcomes.
  • Limit alcohol and avoid recreational drugs.
